**Unfortunately due to current covid restrictions, The Smith Street Band have postponed their June 17 show at Max Watts Melbourne to Saturday July 3rd. All tickets valid for new date, if you can’t attend the new date you can contact oztix for a refund before June 19**
The time has come when I must call it a day with The Smith Street Band. For the past 4 years I have been touring with the band, playing some of the most amazing shows and venues to the most wonderful people and I will be eternally grateful for these experiences.
Over the past 4 years, I have seen some of the most exciting times with getting married (which the boys missed, to play a show with Midnight Oil in LA, no biggie) to the birth of my utterly intoxicating tiny human. The band supported me as a working and breastfeeding Mum to continue playing shows by bringing Jules and Helki on the road with us for a massive national tour.
Sadly, due to the situation many bands find themselves in post covid, touring relentlessly is the only option to make a living wage. I have decided that I can’t justify the time away from home to tour anymore. It’s time to spend some much needed time at home with my favourite humans.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and the band, come to shows and sent me messages. I am absolutely proud of what I have achieved as a working Mum. It hasn’t been easy touring with a baby or coming home after shows to being a Mum and working another job on the side, but there are no regrets. Now it’s time to chill out and watch my babe grow.
Peace out pals!
Lucy’s time with the Smithies is unfortunately coming to an end! We’ve loved having Luce on board for the last few years and everything she’s brought to the band both on and off stage! Lucy will be playing both our upcoming shows with The Brisbane Symphony Orchestra and then we’ll be doing a special farewell Lucy show on June 17th at Max Watts, hope to see you all there!
